  • Reservation

    How do I reserve a parking space?

    Enter the desired parking period. We will check whether a parking space is available.
    Two more important pieces of information: Please make sure that your booking request begins at the earliest the next day and that your booking time period is at least 4 hours. For your reservation a reservation fee of EUR 3.00 will be charged. This guarantees you of a parking spot - even if it says "OCCUPIED" at the entrance of the parking - and it also offers the possibility to change the reservation (once) for free. And please also note that you may reserve a parking space only 12 months in advance.

    Do I have to reserve a specific spot?

    No. You reserve an arbitrary parking space in the parking garage or car park of your choice. We guarantee that the parking garage or car park has a free parking space reserved for you.

    I would like to book multiple parking spaces. What do I need to know?

    If you would like to book two or more parking spaces (even in different parking facilities) for an identical time period or different time periods, make sure you use different methods of payment (and therefore different means of entering and exiting); e.g. your debit card for the first booking and credit card for the second booking. In doing so, please make sure that when using debit cards, the difference is decisive: this means, for example, that two debit cards on one account (e.g. for married couples) only count as one method of payment, since the account details are identical.

    Will I receive confirmation of my reservation?

    Yes. Your confirmation will be e-mailed to you.

    I didn’t receive a reservation! Who can help me?

    Please first check the spam folder in your e-mails. The e-mail with the reservation confirmation may have been automatically moved to this folder.     I do not have a “German” debit card. Can I book online with any debit card?

    Unfortunately, no. Foreign customers cannot book online with a debit card, only by credit card. In this case, the credit card is also the only means for entering and exiting the parking facilities.

    Why this reservation fee?

    To provide you with the service that up to 4 hours before and 4 hours after the time specified by you, we keep the parking available and ensure you of your parking spot. Also, if you want to make any changes in the reservation (once) we offer this possibility. Finally, with the reservation fee you can enter the garage or the parking, even if the screen at the entrance says “OCCUPIED”.

    What happens to the reservation fee if I do not make the trip?

    The reservation fee is charged when you book. In the case you do not make the trip or cannot realize the booking, the reservation fee cannot be refunded.

    What happens to my information?

    Your information will only be used to process your reservation request and the subsequent parking procedure.

    When amending or cancelling the booking, the booking number is not found?

    What do I need to enter and exit the parking facilities?

    While booking online, you will select whether you would like to pay the parking fees by debit or credit card. Payment of the parking fees only takes place after exiting! The method of payment selected in the online booking simultaneously serves as the means of entering and exiting. This means that you only have to insert the method of payment into the machine at the gate, and the gate will open. When exiting as well, you only have to insert the method of payment into the machine at the gate, and then you may exit. IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you use the exact same method of payment for entering and exiting that you have specified for method of payment! The parking fees are subsequently charged automatically. It is not required to use ticket machines for payment!

    Can I enter the parking facility before the specified time or exit after the specified time?

     

    You can drive into our car parks up to a maximum of 4 hours before and up to 4 hours after the entry time given by you, even if the display says “Bezetzt - Full". After these 4 hours, your reservation expires. Later exits are always possible. However, exceeding the booked maximum parking time may result in a higher fare for the extra time. Have you booked, for example, a parking duration of 8 days, but you parked 9 days, then the tariff is calculated and deducted automatically at the exit of the tariff up to 15 days.

    How do I get from P4 and P5 to the airport?

    The Parkvogel parking garages P4 and P5 are ideal long-term parking garages in close proximity to the terminal - with the SkyTrain, you can be at the check-in counter in just two minutes.

    How do I get from P23 to the airport?

    Car park P23 is also located on the airport grounds. You can reach the terminal by foot in 8 minutes!

    How do I get from P24 and P26 to the airport?

    The long-term car parks P24 and P26 are perfectly connected to the terminal by a regularly commuting Parkvogel shuttle which brings you promptly to your flight in just three minutes and of course also brings you back to your vehicle. The Parkvogel shuttle buses commute every 20 minutes between the car parks and the terminal. P24 is open 24 hours; the shuttle runs from 3:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. P26 is open 24 hours; the shuttle runs from 3:20 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

    I would like to use the shuttle service. What if I arrive later than anticipated?

    No problem! If you do not reach the planned shuttle in time, you may of course just take the next one. Additional information on the shuttle service and SkyTrain can be found here.

    Are children seats available in the shuttle transfer for my kids to get to the airport safely?

    In the minivans used by us for transfers, we provide free child car seats, which are legally approved from a minimum weight of 15kg. Children weighing less than 15kg must be secured by a weight-matching safety system (infant carrier, child seat). This must be provided by the parents/escorts. The car park operator is not obliged to bring these child seats.

    How much luggage can I bring along? And what about oversize luggage?

    Please let us know if you are travelling with oversize luggage or a lot of luggage. We will, of course, assist you in handling your luggage.

    Do I have to buy a ticket for the Sky-Train?

    No, you do not have to buy an extra ticket. The use of the Sky-Train is free for Parkvogel customers.

    Do I need an environmental badge (an emissions sticker) to access the parking facilities?

    If you are travelling from outside the city area via the A44, you do not need an environmental badge for P4, P5, P23 and P24. Only P26 is located within the environmental zone; for this you will need an environmental badge. Additional information on the environmental badge and options for obtaining it can be found here.

    Is my car in good hands?

    Yes, our parking garages and car parks are under video surveillance and staffed. Since you don’t hand over your key, your vehicle will naturally remain in the space where you parked it.

    I am having a problem on site at the parking facility. Who can help me?

    All gate systems and parking machines have a call button with an intercom function. This way an employee is available 24 hours a day for your questions. If your car will not start after it has been parked for a long time, our colleagues on site will be happy to get your car started.

     

    Why do I receive an e-mail two days before the start of my booking?

    If you have booked a parking space you will receive an e-mail summarizing all important information concerning your booking two days before your booking period starts.
    This e-mail does not include advertising contents and serves the sole purpose of informing you about your upcoming booking. You can of course unsubscribe from this e-mail anytime. To do so please click on the link at the end of that e-mail.

    Will I receive confirmation of my reservation?

    Yes, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and a QR code for entry.

    Yes, you will receive a parking ticket upon entering once you have scanned the QR code. Before picking up your car, simply pay the parking fees by debit or credit card at the automatic pay station. Of course you can also pay in cash, no problem at all!

    Why is it important that I specify the times and flight number?

    Our service offer at the ISS Dome includes providing you with our shuttle service as promptly as possible. We would like to provide the best support even for delayed arrivals from your holiday travels. To do so, we require these details.

    What happens to my information?

    What do I need to enter and exit the car park?

    After booking successfully online, you will receive a booking confirmation via e-mail. This contains a QR code, which you are to hold under the QR code reader at the entrance gate. Then the gate machine will issue a parking ticket and the gate will open. Before exiting, please insert the parking ticket at the ticket machines. The parking fees incurred can be paid by debit card, credit card or in cash.

    How do I park my vehicle?

    There is a Parkvogel employee at the ISS Dome who will exchange your QR code for a parking ticket, or you will hold the QR code in front of the scanner at the entrance gate and receive a parking ticket automatically.

    Can I enter the car park before the specified time or exit after the specified time?

    You can drive into our car parks up to a maximum of 4 hours before and up to 4 hours after the entry time given by you, even if the display says “Bezetzt - Full". After these 4 hours, your reservation expires. Later exits are always possible. However, exceeding the booked maximum parking time may result in a higher fare for the extra time.     How do I get to the airport from the ISS DOME?

    Our shuttle service will bring you safely to the terminal and of course pick you back up. The shuttle bus stop is located right in front of the parking garage. You will be brought to the terminal by the shuttle bus and picked up again. The shuttle service is free for you and generally runs every 30 minutes. Our shuttle runs from 3:15 a.m. to 00:45 a.m. Of course we still pick up all passengers from the last flight into Düsseldorf - no matter how late the plane lands.

    I would like to use the shuttle service. What if I arrive later than anticipated?

    No problem! If you do not reach the planned shuttle in time, you may of course just take the next one. Additional information on the shuttle service can be found here.

    I would like to use the shuttle service. What if more people come along than the number of travellers specified in the booking?

    No problem! We will of course transport all travel guests. Nevertheless, please make sure to specify the correct number of expected travellers when booking. This facilitates our planning.

    Are children seats available in the shuttle transfer for my kids to get to the airport safely?

    In the minivans used by us for transfers, we provide free child car seats, which are legally approved from a minimum weight of 15kg. On this confirmation you will find a voucher which you put in the windshield of your car. Please not the special instructions on the voucher!

First Class Parken parking at the Düsseldorf Airport:

    I would like to use First Class Parken parking. Do I need to reserve a space in advance?

    We recommend an early reservation to guarantee a space in the parking area. On the day of travel, you will have no problem entering the parking area using your EC or credit card. Since the system will automatically recognize you, and with no need to enter any additional personal data at the check-in terminal on site, an online reservation saves you valuable time. Please also note that you may reserve a parking space a maximum of 12 months in advance.

     

    Will I receive confirmation of my reservation?

    Yes. Your confirmation will be e-mailed to you.

    Why do I have to drive through two barriers when approaching?

    From September 1st, 2018, new barrier systems will be installed in the arrival area. On the terminal ring - just before entering the parking area First Class Parking - you need to pass the gate to the arrivals. Simply pull a ticket there and enter the area. Our staff at the First Class Parking Service Point will provide you with an exit ticket that will allow you to leave the arrivals' entrance for free after your holiday.

    Immediately before the first class parking area is the 2nd barrier. Here you continue as usual with the payment medium indicated on the online reservation (Bank- or credit card).

    How can I use the First Class Parken parking system?

    On the lowest level of car park P3, right near the terminal, you can park your car in an individual car transfer box, which has the feel of a personal garage. After you have left the car transfer box, you enter your flight information on a touch screen, and the car is transported by machine from the transfer box to the parking area. To pick up the vehicle, the car is brought back to the transfer box at the right time, and you can leave the car park without the trouble of searching for your car.

    How does the robot pick up my car?

    The parking robot picks up the car by its tires. Similar to a forklift, it drives around the tires and lifts the car only by the tires. That way, there will not be any type of damage, and the robot only comes into contact with the car at the points that are otherwise in contact with the road.

    Is it possible to request the return of the car shortly after it has been stored?

    If a trip is shorter than planned, or if flights are cancelled, you can certainly request the retrieval of your car shortly after it has been stored. However, the storage process must first be completed. To request your car, please use your ticket or the "DUS First Class Parken"-APP at the kiosk in the First Class Parken lounge area.

    How fast can the system retrieve my car?

    Your vehicle can be retrieved within 3 -5 minutes, provided that you have specified your desired return time window in advance. If you also specified a flight number when making your reservation, the car will be automatically placed once your flight has landed according to the actual flight data received from the tower. The specification of "Travelling with / without luggage" is also checked and taken into account for calculating the time of return.

    How and where can I request my car manually?

    You can manually request your car at the kiosk in the First Class Parken lounge area or using the "Parkvogel First Class"-APP. At the kiosk, please place the QR code (ticket or APP scan) in front of the red scanner.

    Can I store my car before the specified time or retrieve it after the specified time?

    You may store your car up to 1 hours before the start of the booked time period and retrieve it up to 1 hours after the end of the booked time period. In principle, it is always possible to exit later. However, if the booked maximum parking duration is exceeded, the next payment rate may apply.     I'm back from my trip and want to exit the parking area with my returned car. How do I pay the parking fees? Do I have to use a pay station?

    Where does the robot system obtain information about the dimensions of my car and the tire size?

    Using a laser scan in the transfer box, the system computes the exact contours and the tire size of your car. All relevant data is extracted from this model and transmitted to the parking robots.

    What type of vehicles can use this system?

    The system can be flexibly adapted to different types of vehicles. The spectrum ranges from Smart cars to SUVs or station wagons. The maximum entrance height into the parking area is 2.10 m. To ensure proper storage of your car, its ground clearance must be in accordance with TÜV standards. If this is not the case, our support staff will be happy to assist you on site. This also applies to cases of vehicle add-ons ( e.g spoilers, towing mirrors) that extend beyond the contours of the car, resulting in a warning message from the system.

    Are there safety systems in place to prevent any damage to my car?

    The modern robot system is equipped with various safety systems and monitoring mechanisms to prevent any damage to stored vehicles. In the event of any critical malfunction, the system will automatically stop and send an alert to our staff. For the additional protection of the system and your car, the entire parking area is completely fenced.

    Is my car insured while it is parked?

    Yes. We take the issue of safety and the prevention of any damage very serious. For that reason, both prior to storage and following retrieval, the system creates a 360° detailed image of your vehicle to document the car's condition.

    In the transfer box, the system measures my car by laser scanning. Does this present a hazard to the car, or to my eyes?

    The lasers used by our parking system are all Laser Class 1. These are harmless to your car and to the human eye.

    My car can be requested by app as well as at a kiosk. Is there any risk of an unknown party requesting my car?

    Your QR-ticket, or the QR scan in your app, has a unique ID with which only you - or the service staff - can retrieve your car. Furthermore, your key remains with you during your trip, making the retrieval or use of your car by an unknown party impossible.

    My return flight details have changed. How can I report this?

    To report a correction of the return flight data (e.g. a different flight) during your trip, please use the"DUS First Class Parken"-APP. In case flight details have already changed prior to your departure, please correct them here.

    I have lost my ticket. How can I still retrieve my car?

    In the event of ticket loss, following the corresponding verification of your personal and vehicle details, our service staff can retrieve the car.

    I am having a problem on site at the parking facility. Who can help me?

    Why is creating an account wise?

    With your account you can easily view your bookings at a glance. You have the option to change or even cancel your booking. You also do not have to enter your personal details again in a future booking.

    Can I delete my account again?

    Yes, you can easily delete your account. Log in to your account and click on "Delete account" button.

    The code of my activation e-mail has expired / I have not received any activation e-mail. What can I do?

    If you have not received an activation e-mail, first check your spam folder. If the mail can not be found here, you can have it sent again via the Account page.

    If the activation period of 48 hours has passed, you can request to re-send a new activation e-mail.

    The Parkvogel app offers you useful tools to make the process of departure and arrival to the parking lot easy. For example, you can reserve your parking space in just 4 steps via the app and you can see all the bookings made at a glance. You can also find all details about our parking garages in the app, for example the price and location. The Parkvogel assistant guides you through the parking process, to save you from stress.     What is the Parkvogel assistant?

    The Parkvogel assistant guides you through your entire parking process.

    The assistant will navigate you to the parking garage, provides entrance information and stores your parking position (if desired). It continues at the airport; the assistant indicates the check-in location and the gate number. Relaxed on vacation and relaxed back home. The assistant also shows you the number of the baggage claim and gives you information about the payment options of the parking garage and the exit options.

    This ensures that your entire arrival and departure runs smoothly!

    Do I need an account for the Parkvogel app?

    Yes, if you want to use the Parkvogel app with all its advantages, you need an account. You do not need an account if you only want more information about our rates and our parking garages.
